Jealous NYC geriatric shoots girlfriend, 70, younger boyfriend as elderly love triangle turns violent: sources

A jilted geriatric shot a 70-year-old woman and her younger lover over an apparent love triangle when he found them together in a Bronx apartment Saturday night, according to sources.

A jilted geriatric shot a 70-year-old woman and her younger lover over an apparent love triangle when he found them together in a Bronx apartment Saturday night, according to sources.

The 68-year-old man blasted her once in the gut and shot his 60-year-old romantic rival multiple times in the chest in a ninth-floor apartment near East 173rd Street and Third Avenue around 9:30 p.m., cops and sources said.

When police descended on the home, the enraged beau barricaded himself and the victims inside, leading to a tense standoff with cops.

The shooting was possibly the result of an apparent love triangle turned violent, sources said.

Video obtained by The Post shows a man who neighbors identified as the suspect frantically searching for his errant beau in the moments before the blasting.

“Is April here? April. April. April. Hello? Hello?” asks the masked-up man donning a Yankee cap – as he’s seen fiddling with his waistband while banging on the wrong apartment door.

The NYPD’s Emergency Service Unit eventually nabbed the shooter.

Both of the victims were rushed by medics to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where they are listed in stable condition.

Bloodstains could still be seen on the ninth-floor hallway the afternoon after the violence occurred.

“There’s always something upstairs. It’s time to get the f–k out of this building,” said one resident. “This building is to the tombs.”

Another resident was dismayed to hear the man was wounded in the shooting, saying “he didn’t deserve that.”

“Really nice guy. He holds the door for you,” the neighbor said.

A worker at the building described the younger lover who was wounded in the violence as a “clean cut guy” and a “working man” – with a bit of a Don Juan streak.

“I do see that guy with different women all the time,” said the employee.

Charges were pending against the shooter Sunday afternoon.
