Elderly suspect sought for assaulting older man during an argument in Jackson Heights: NYPD – QNS

Police from the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights are looking for an old man who allegedly assaulted an even older man in broad daylight and remains at large

Police from the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights are looking for an old man who allegedly assaulted an even older man in broad daylight and remains at large nearly three weeks later.

Police say the 75-year-old victim was in front of a store at 83-19 Northern Blvd. just before noon on Oct. 1 when an elderly stranger approached and engaged him in a verbal dispute that rapidly became heated.

The suspect proceeded to punch the victim with a closed fist and when the senior fell to the sidewalk, the perpetrator kicked him throughout his body before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction. EMS responded to the location and transported the injured senior to Queens Hospital Center in Jamaica, where he was listed in stable condition.

The NYPD released a surveillance image of the suspect on Wednesday and described him as having a light complexion in his 60s with short gray hair and a thin build. He was last seen wearing eyeglasses, a black and white plaid shirt, blue jeans and gray sneakers.

A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest and indictment. Anyone with information regarding this assault investigation is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging on to the Crime Stoppers website at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org or on X (the platform formerly known as Twitter) @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are strictly confidential.

Through Oct. 18, the 115th Precinct has reported 351 felony assaults so far in 2026, 88 fewer than the 439 reported at the same point last year, a decline of 20%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
